I flew from Sydney to Izmir, Turkiye in September 2025 to have the gastric sleeve operation performed by Dr Huseyin Eken. Dr Huseyin Eken is a wonderful surgeon, and he truly is amazing at what he does. He is very professional, polite and friendly. He checked in on me daily throughout my stay at Egepol Hospital before and after surgery to check on how I was feeling. His team of beautiful ladies, Beyza, Beliz and Nadya were also very friendly, helpful and supportive throughout the whole process and followed up before and after surgery right up until I left Turkiye. They are still in contact with me now that I am back home and recovering. I recommend Dr Huseyin Eken and his team 100% if you are looking for a bariatric surgeon in Turkiye. My experience was smooth sailing from start to finish and an experience that I will forever remember, having absolutely no problems whatsoever and the care I received was brilliant. Egepol Hospital is outstanding. The nurses and staff who work there do an amazing job. The Hospital is like a 5-star hotel. I don’t even know where to start! I am from Cornwall in the U.K., and I was personally recommended to Dr Huseyin Eken by a lovely lady ‘Ashley’ who I follow on Instagram. Literally from my very first WhatsApp enquiry right through to my Surgery procedure, I could not ask for a better a surgeon and team. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is explained to you via Video at the start, and Dr H decides what surgery option is best suited for you. Everyone keeps in contact with you, right up to the day you leave. When you arrive in Turkey, there is a VIP transfer waiting to take you straight to the hospital and you are given their full attention from the moment you arrive. I travelled on my own and was cared for so well. The morning of operation I was given all the necessary pre tests and my ultrasound showed gallstones, but which they pointed out to me on their screen. We talked through the options available and I did not have to have my gallbladder removed for my sleeve surgery. Personally, I felt I had so much faith in the team already that I made the decision to remove my gallbladder at the same time. The surgery went really well, and after coming back around from the anaesthetic I experienced gas pain only. This lasted all afternoon and improved over time, and the team encourage you to be mobile and gentle walking around the corridors ASAP. I personally have MS, and can be quite uneasy on my legs at time. However in hospital, there is always someone to assist. The day after surgery I was given a leakage test, medication and after care is fully explained, and I even washed, dressed and managed a 20 min stroll outside! My incisions are minimal considering I have just had a stomach and gallbladder removal. I can truly say that I have so much to thank Dr H and his team of Angels for. These people have given me the chance, and the determination to find myself again, become healthy learn to love myself again. I truly say if you are considering Bariatric Surgery then please do get in contact with Dr H, Beyza and Beliz. I am sat here 14 days Post Op and I couldn’t be happier.. and my life changing journey has only just started! Dr H… girls, thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart! Had great pleasure to see Dr. Huseyin again this past month. I accompanied a family member for Gastric Sleeve Surgery and also a friend for dentistry. I had gastric sleeve surgery and a hernia repair with Dr. Huseyin nearly four years ago and it was the best experience. He is a brilliant surgeon but also the coolest Doctor ever, he makes you feel so confident and totally comfortable under his care along with his amazing team Beyza and Beliz whom also cared for me . This visit has not been any different the care was outstanding right from Doc to nursing staff nothing was too much trouble. If I ever required any elective surgery in the future I would not hesitate to travel and have it done by him. I must add that Beyza is one of the the kindest and sweetest girls I have ever met. If anyone reading this is even considering surgery you will be making the best decision using Dr. Huseyin and his team. I have never looked back and had no doubts about bringing family members to him. I knew they were in the best hands
5* experience with Dr H and his team Beyza & Beliz. I’ve had a few surgeries in the UK and this is by far the best experience . From start to finish and the care and attention I’ve continued to receive is second to none. The communication was excellent from when I enquired about a gastric procedure, all plans were taken of, transfers, and Beyza is a fantastic translator I actually wondered if she had lived in the UK for some time as her English is excellent and better than a lot of Brits! Dr H is very professional he’s clearly very high up in his field as it all seemed effortless and the team were super friendly and had a great banter between them. All in All 10/10 experience and I would reccomend them to anyone thinking about under going any surgery.
I had an amazing experience with Dr Huseyin. His team was so friendly. I remember a nurse telling me a joke before i went under anaesthetic. The hospital was 5 stars. Dr Huseyin saved my life and my confidence is now so high. I am so grateful. I am 7 months post op and 24 kg down. The journey is not over but definitely going the right direction. Dr. H Clinic is the best one in Izmir. Dr. H is the best professional surgeon in the world regarding bariatric surgeries, he’s very caring, friendly and make me feel very comfortable during the whole process. Dr. H has two angels Beyza who is his secretary and Beliz who is the dietician. Both of them are very caring, friendly, professional and accurate of what they are saying to patients. Their service cost more of what they are charging. If you want to have a weight loss surgery in Izmir Turkey please choose Dr.H Clinic you will never regret it. I had gastric sleeve and after three days of the surgeries I was perfectly fine! Trust the process trust Dr.H and his team they are the best one in the field.
I came from the UK for gastric sleeve and because of all the horror stories you can imagine I was extremely anxious. Dr H was recommended to me by a friend so I took the plunge. Well what can I say except for what a fantastic team. Picked up from the airport and taken straight to the hospital When I arrived Beyza was waiting for me to arrive even though our flight was delayed for 3 hours. All test completed the night before surgery. Every test imaginable I have to say they put our health services to shame. They even discovered a cyst on my liver so this will be investigated further. Surgery day arrived and I met Dr H prior and he explained everything to me and was happy for me to have surgery. Met so many people in the morning including psychiatrist, dietician, anesthetist, respiratory Dr and also surgean Dr H. Surgery done and back on the ward nurse were on the ball making sure pain relieve given constantly iv fluids given so you are never playing catch up with hydration, anti sickness given the full time and blood thinner injection given. Also twice daily stomach protectors. They looked after me and my husband so well my husband received 3 meals a day. Safe was also in your room so you felt at ease. Beyza was there every step of the way even attended surgery with me. Dietician came and discussed your plan for the next 2 weeks then when home we will face time at different stages of my journey so I am aware of the does and don't s. On the 3rd day I was well enough to leave. Stayed at a 5 star hotel for a rest before going home. When leaving hospital I was given all the protein that is needed for the 2 weeks along with anti sickness tablets, vitamins, pain relief, thinner injections, stomach protectors and antibiotics for any unexpected infection the could accur. This blew me away and I left hospital feeling confident I was going to being in no discomfort. Met all my expectations and more. Beyza has answered all my questions along the way and arranged everything for me. Thank you so much you have all been perfect 👌
I had gastric bypass surgery with DR H recently and the treatment I had was 5 star from the first consultation and continuing after my surgery. All of the medical staff have been fantastic and have gone out if their way to ensure I am comfortable the whole way through. I can't recommend them enough.
I had a Gastric sleeve op performed by Dr H last week in Izmir. I cannot recommend him and his entire team highly enough. Everything from once I was collected at the airport till I was dropped off was done with precision. Dr H and his team are one lovely family and the care they provide is second to none. The hospital was beautiful as was the hotel provided for my final nights stay. One thing I have to say is their personal touch. Dr H would come twice a day to see me, even after my op and is available to Contact whenever I want as is his team. You won’t get this from other companies, you are just a number on a conveyor belt. Yes, you can shop around and find a bargain but what price on your life and health? This man is regarded as one of the best in the business, I can clearly see why. As far as myself, I was up walking the afternoon of my op. I went outside the following day and was in the hotel within 48hrs. No pain, problems whatsoever. 5 days in now and I feel amazing. Anybody that wants to change their lives without compromising their health, contact Dr H
I’d like to start by thanking all the staff and Dr H for the warm welcoming and continued support, I have never had surgery so you can imagine I was nervous, however Dr H and the girls made me feel at ease. From my accommodation and private transport to dietary support I have received 5star treatment. The team constantly check in and are available for any questions I have, even back home in the UK. The hospital is like a hotel and my suit was very comfortable and the sleeping arrangements for my companion were also great. There is a cafe situated next door for companions who may be a fussy eater (mine was) For the final night we stay at at a luxury spa hotel where at first I was sceptical of leaving the hospital however it was the best decision to go and enjoy a relaxing final night and start to administrate my own medication. Again I was transferred by private taxi and the girls check in regularly. All the staff are very friendly and I felt safe and confident in Dr H conducting my surgery. Dr H offered support, advice and reassurance throughout my stay.
